Bari Life Updates Bariatric Vitamin Formula and Launches New Unflavored Vitamin Powder, April 2014

By Bari Life

New BariLife Vitamin FormulaBari Life’s Complete Bariatric Vitamin Tablet has been updated to meet the most recent American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), recommendations.  One of the most significant changes to the ASMBS guidelines was in the daily calcium recommendations.

Gastric Band, Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy patients require 1200-1500 mg of calcium daily and the Duodenal Switch patients require 1800-2400 mg of calcium.  Based on this change Bari Life has been able to slightly reduce the size of the Complete Bariatric Vitamin Tablet.  The original tablet was 25% larger than the new one.  The tablet is the same length but slimmer than the original.  All multivitamins are large, especially if they contain all of the required vitamins and minerals needed after bariatric surgery.  The easy swallow coating makes the Bari Life vitamin slide down easily with water and now with the size slightly reduced we are confident patients who have trouble swallowing multivitamins will appreciate this modification.

In January 2014, Bari Life introduced a flavorless version of the Complete Bariatric Vitamin Powder.  Patient response to this product has been tremendous!  The flavorless powder is a great option for bariatric patients who are looking for a way to get all the vitamins and minerals needed without swallowing tablets or getting sweet chewable vitamins stuck in their teeth.  We find that the flavorless powder works great in homemade smoothies and shakes.  One scoop of any of our Complete Bariatric Vitamin Powders (also available in Watermelon and Lemonade) added to your breakfast smoothie helps you start your day meeting half of your daily supplementation requirements. And you only need 2 scoops total a day to meet all of the vitamins and minerals you need each day.

Bari Life is committed to developing products that promote adherence to the research driven recommendations of the ASMBS.  These updated guidelines were based on clinical findings over the past five years and should be followed by all bariatric patients for optimum health after bariatric surgery.

To your health!
