Pre-surgery the surgeon explained the surgeries to you, the dietitian explained good nutrition habits to you and the exercise physiologist showed you how to exercise and which exercises you should do.
The plan was to start doing everything they taught you after you had surgery, but it was a ton of information you were expected to remember and it was so long ago it’s nearly impossible to recall.
So 1 year after surgery bariatric patients are surprised to find that their team and their support have dwindled and they are left to figure it out on their own.
